Editorial policy

Jank is a reader-supported blog about PC games. We publish articles and podcasts, some of which are available to everyone and some which require a free or paid membership to access.

We strive for accuracy in everything we do, and we take seriously our responsibilities as writers and journalists. Everything published on Jank is the honestly held opinion of the author and free from external influence.

We do not run adverts, accept money for coverage whether in the form of sponsored content or otherwise, and do not include affiliate links in our stories.

We do not use AI in any form or for any purpose.

We accept free copies of videogames from developers, publishers and PR for the purpose of creating articles and podcasts. We do not guarantee positive coverage, or coverage of any kind, in return for a copy of a game. Where a review copy of a game has been accepted for the purpose of that review, this will be disclosed. We do not share our coverage with anyone prior to publication and all opinions are our own.

In the course of receiving games and information about games, we may from time to time sign non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) with publishers, developers or PR firms. We only sign these NDAs where such agreements do not alter our coverage or impede our ability to report stories in any way.

We do not accept gifts of any value from developers, publishers or PR.

We strive to be accurate at all times. In the event that we make an error, we will fix the mistake and publish a correction notice at the end of the article.

When reporting news, we will reach out to any parties mentioned in stories for comment. If you believe that you have a right-of-reply to a story we have written, please contact us.

We respect the need and desire of some sources to remain anonymous, and will protect the identity of any confidential source. All information provided to us by any source will be independently verified by us prior to publication. We do not pay sources for information.

Where our source is the published work for another outlet, this will be attributed with a link to the original source.

Should we feel we have a conflict of interest regarding any particular topic, we will recuse ourselves from writing about the subject or, if this is not possible, disclose the relationship adjacent to any coverage.
