Total Playtime: MrBeast Big Naturals

Plus: mining sexual tension
Total Playtime: MrBeast Big Naturals
Is... is that The Rock facing off against the Witch-king of Angmar?

Total Playtime is a Patreon-supported podcast about videogames, hosted by Alice Bell, Jon Hicks, Brendan Caldwell and Nate Crowley. Jank has partnered with them and we'll be posting new episodes each week.

This week we have fun (for a given value of fun) discussing Epic's mass layoffs. They got rid of a thousand actual people, for what I think are very vague reasons, i.e. Fortnite is somehow not making enough money. This seems like an impossible circumstance. Fortnite is basically a printing press that produces sheets of dollar bills with Tim Sweeney's face on.

Maybe he should stop trying to make a shop that most people don't use because its UI is still really bad and annoying. Why isn't there a half decent way to sort the games I have? Why does the application act like me asking it to order my game library in order of purchase is a task of the same difficulty as God asking Abraham to, like, seriously murk Isaac?

We also discuss Sony's dynamic price testing, which sees the return of a much beloved beans metaphor. This, in turn, leads to an extended riff on the world's favourite glassy-eyed YouTuber. Please note, Jimmy, that the title of this episode is a lighthearted joke; I beg, do not turn your eye of Sauron upon us.

Plus! Brendy talks about reviewing Crimson Desert (he didn't review it, but other people did and they said it's mid). He gets unaccountably upset at us for saying things about mining but in a way that sort of implies we find mining sexually arousing. He genuinely seemed upset during recording as well. I don't think it was a bit.

Jonty continues to shirk his podcast responsibilities by not being at recordings. I told the other lads that it was because he's eaten his microphone, "or something" and he seemed to take exception to this. Regardless, whatever orifice his microphone is in, it means he's not on this episode, and I can only apologise.

You can listen to the episode right here, or find it on your podcatching apps.

Epic shitcanned a thousand people, and the Fortnite team are a bit like 'WELP'. Chet Falizsek went on a tear about it. Rumours abound that PlayStation are testing dynamic pricing. Now maybe spotted in the wildCrimson Desert for some reason became the latest saviour of single player games (I think off the strength of one cool trailer maybe??) and then was distinctly midPaul Tassi wrote about how the review build was significantly different to the retail version.
